Glenn Hartas:
Way FM 105.3 — your positive alternative. You’re with Glenn and we’re talking teeth—specifically dentures versus implants. Joining me is Dr. Bing from Innova Dental. Welcome back, Dr. Bing!

Dr. Bing:
Thanks, Glenn! It’s always a pleasure.

Glenn Hartas:
Alright, let’s get right into it. A lot of people with missing teeth wonder—should I go with dentures or dental implants? What’s the main difference?

Dr. Bing:
Good question. Dentures are removable replacements that sit over your gums—think of them like a set of false teeth. Implants, on the other hand, are permanently fixed into your jawbone, and they are acting like real tooth roots. They’re strong, stable, and feel natural.

Glenn Hartas:
And how does someone decide which option is right for them?

Dr. Bing:
It really depends on a few things—your bone health, your bone quantity, what your budget is, and what kind of lifestyle you prefer. Dentures are often comparatively affordable up front, but they can move around and need maintenance. Implants are a big investment, but they’re low-fuss and a lot of patients tell us that they feel a lot like your own teeth.

Glenn Hartas:
Are implants possible at any circumstances? Or are there cases where dentures are better?

Dr. Bing:
Not everyone is suitable candidate for implants right away—especially if there’s bone loss. But that’s where our technology comes in. At Innova Dental, we offer options like All-on-4 implants, which can often enhance smile even with less bone and with less implants. That said, some patients prefer dentures or need them temporarily before upgrading. It’s important to know that we tailor the treatment to you.

Glenn Hartas:
Let’s talk comfort and confidence. How do patients feel after getting either option?

Dr. Bing:
For many patients, it’s awakening. Dentures can enhance chewing and appearance, but implants often provide that confidence and function—you can laugh, eat, and live without worry. Some of our patients tear up when they bite into an apple again after years. It's impactful.

Glenn Hartas:
Wow—what a change. Last one, Dr. Bing—what’s the initial step for someone considering this?

Dr. Bing:
We recommend booking in a consultation to assess whether they are a suitable candidate! We’ll take a 3D scan, chat about your goals, and show you what’s possible—no pressure. Whether it’s dentures, implants, or a mix of both, we’ll guide you every step of the way. We have a dedicated prosthetist on site as well named Rob two days a week and he can help you with your denture needs.

Glenn Hartas:
Thanks so much, Dr. Bing! That’s Innova Dental, folks—changing lives one smile at a time. With them, your dream smile could be close.

Dr. Bing:
Thanks, Glenn. See you soon!
