Glenn Hartas:
Way FM 105.3, your positive alternative. You do have Glenn here and it's always nice to pop down and see Dr. Bing at our station sponsor, Innova Dental. So, Dr. Bing, let's say someone is having a dental emergency. What should they do in the moment?
Dr. Bing:
So, first things first, you need to stay calm and then act quickly. Here's a quick rundown. So if you have got a knocked out tooth, what we want you to do is to handle it by the crown, which is the bit that sticks out in your mouth, not the root. Rinse it gently and try to put it back into the socket or in milk. If you've got a broken tooth, rinse your mouth and keep any broken pieces if you can. If you've got a swelling or infection, this could be serious. So I would recommend that you call us immediately. And you know, if you have got a toothache and it's more than just discomfort, what you should do is to book in as soon as possible so we can help.
Glenn Hartas:
So milk for a knocked out tooth, that's a new one for me.
Dr. Bing:
Yes, milk helps preserve the cells on the tooth surface, giving us a better chance of saving the tooth if you get it to us quickly.
Glenn Hartas:
So Dr. Bing, what's the biggest mistake people make during a dental emergency?
Dr. Bing:
I think the biggest mistake people usually make is waiting too long. So pain may come and go, but underlying issue doesn't heal on its own. And so, you know, if something feels off, I think you should trust your gut and give us a call.
Glenn Hartas:
And that's where your emergency guarantee really makes a difference.
Dr. Bing:
Exactly. We're here to take the stress off your shoulders and get you back to smiling fast.
Glenn Hartas:
Now, we spoke about the emergency guarantee last week. Just remind us about that.
Dr. Bing:
So if you call us before 10am, we will get you an appointment on the same day.
Glenn Hartas:
