Alright Dr Bing, let’s settle it—are root canals really as bad as people think?

Honestly? Not even close. Most of the fear around root canals comes from old stories or really outdated experiences. These days, a root canal is a routine procedure that actually helps get people out of pain.

So what is a root canal, really?
Dr Bing
It’s a way of saving a tooth that’s been badly damaged or infected inside.
We gently clean out the infected nerve, disinfect the area, and seal the tooth to prevent further issues. Then we usually place a crown to protect the tooth long-term. It’s one of the best ways to avoid losing a tooth.

And it’s not painful?
Dr Bing
No not at all. We use modern numbing techniques, take things at your pace, and most people are surprised by how easy and calm the process is. If anything, most of my patients actually fall asleep during root canals, and it relieves pain from toothaches or infections.
